What SideNook collects

  • SideNook does not require an account.
  • The app stores your local settings and session history on your device.
  • If you send feedback, the message is saved locally with the name and email you entered.

What SideNook sends

  • The Mac app sends a lightweight launch ping with app version, build number, and operating system version.
  • The app uses your local network only to find your Mac on the same network.
  • Terminal content and commands stay between your phone and your Mac during use.

How data is used

  • Local data keeps SideNook working as expected on your device.
  • Launch pings measure active installs and version adoption.
  • Feedback files are used only when you choose to share them.

Your choices

  • You can remove local app data by deleting the app and its saved files.
  • You can stop launch pings by removing the app.
  • You can avoid sending feedback if you do not want to share contact details.

SideNook Mobile

  • The mobile app connects only to your own Mac over the local network.
  • It uses Bonjour service discovery to find your Mac — no internet connection is required.
  • Terminal content and commands are streamed directly between your phone and your Mac. They are not stored or processed on any server.
  • The app requests local network access only for this peer-to-peer connection.
  • No account, login, or cloud setup is needed for local use.

Third-party services

  • SideNook does not embed any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs.
  • The Mac app sends a lightweight launch ping (app version, build number, OS version) to measure active installs.
  • No personal data is collected, sold, or shared.
